Absolutely. Many of my clients have already spent years reading books, listening to podcasts, journaling, or engaging in personal growth work before starting therapy. Self-awareness is a tremendous strength and creates a strong foundation for our work together. However, insight alone doesn't always create change. If you understand your patterns but still find yourself stuck in the same thought loops, relationship dynamics, or emotional reactions, therapy can help bridge the gap between knowing and experiencing something different. Together, we'll work toward creating lasting shifts, not just deeper understanding.

The idea of "nervous system healing" can be a little confusing, especially if you're used to traditional talk therapy. It’s not magical, nor is it a drastic departure from what you might expect in therapy. While I don’t use touch or big physical movements, the major difference is the lens through which I understand the changes you'd like to make. In typical therapy, the emphasis is often on verbal processing and understanding thoughts and emotions. While verbal processing is the main mechanism we'll use, I will also help you notice how your body responds to your thoughts and emotions. My approach, Organic Intelligence, is a trauma-informed, mindfulness-based therapy that focuses on the body-mind connection, recognizing how deeply interconnected our bodies and minds are.The healing process here goes beyond simply talking through your past (though that is hugely important, too). It involves bringing awareness to your body’s responses, practicing self-compassion, and fostering personal responsibility. We can work on trauma processing when it feels right and in a way that’s gentle and easeful for you. The goal is to help your nervous system move toward a state of balance so that you can experience greater calm, connection, and joy in everyday life.

I offer both in-person and virtual therapy sessions. In-person appointments are available in San Diego on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and I offer virtual sessions for clients located anywhere in California Tuesday through Friday. Together, we can determine which option best fits your needs and schedule.

My fee for a 50-minute session is $250 for both individuals and couples. A sliding scale is available on a case by case basis for true financial need and lack of resources. Please share your situation to inquire.

I am an out-of-network provider for PPO insurance plans, which means I do not bill insurance directly. I can provide a superbill (a detailed receipt) that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement, depending on your plan. If you’re considering using out-of-network benefits, it can be helpful to ask your insurance provider whether your plan includes reimbursement for mental health services, what your deductible and reimbursement rate are, and how many sessions are covered per year.

My approach to therapy is collaborative, depth-oriented, and focused on understanding the patterns that keep you stuck rather than just talking about symptoms or events in isolation. In session, we pay close attention to what’s happening in real time -- your thoughts, emotional responses, your bodily reactions, and relational patterns -- as a way of working directly with how these issues show up in your life, not just how they make sense conceptually. Over time, this helps create more space between you and your automatic reactions so you can respond to your relationships and decisions with more clarity, flexibility, and self-trust.

To ensure fairness and availability, I require at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session, except in the case of a true emergency. Cancellations or reschedules made with less than 48 hours’ notice are charged the full session fee.

This is one of the most common and difficult questions people bring to therapy. The honest answer is that anxiety, intuition, and real relationship concerns can feel very similar internally, especially when you’re already prone to overthinking or scanning for signs. Rather than trying to immediately categorize what you’re feeling, we slow the process down and look at the pattern itself: what tends to trigger the doubt, how your mind and body respond, and whether the feeling is consistent over time or tied to specific dynamics in the relationship. Over time, this helps you develop more clarity and self-trust so you’re not constantly trying to solve every feeling in real time.

Anxiety and OCD can feel similar on the surface because both can involve worry, rumination, and difficulty feeling settled. One of the key differences is that anxiety tends to be more responsive to reassurance, context, and problem-solving, even if it takes time to ease. OCD, on the other hand, tends to involve more persistent, sticky thought loops that don’t resolve with reassurance and often create a sense of urgency to figure something out “for sure” before you can move on. In practice, what matters most is how the pattern is showing up for you and what helps it loosen over time. In therapy, we focus on working directly with those patterns rather than getting stuck in seeking certainty.

While both coaching and therapy aim to improve your life, they are distinct disciplines with different focuses.Coaching centers on enhancing your performance and satisfaction in various areas of life, such as relationships, personality development, and personal or career goals. The focus is on the here-and-now—helping you develop skills to improve communication, increase relationship enjoyment, and build a greater capacity for life’s challenges.In contrast, therapy often involves exploring past experiences, including trauma and childhood wounds, to address mental health symptoms and improve overall well-being. While coaching can complement therapy, it does not allow for deep trauma work or explicit treatment of past wounds.There is some overlap between the two, but their approaches differ.
