Meet The Therapists
Kyleigh Baker, LMFT #115535
I got into therapy as soon as I turned 18 and then more consistently in college. It changed my life so much so I took a hard off-ramp from the career path I was on with linguistics. It had helped me transform the ways I was coping with a traumatic past that were no longer working for me. Talk therapy was incredibly helpful for what I needed at that time. I knew I wanted to support others' transformations, too, especially adults who suffered from traumatic childhoods who were looking to find peace in the present and connect with themselves and others more deeply.
After grad school, I was initially trained in EMDR (an intense trauma therapy modality) and after I used this for a year I was not happy with the results it was (and was not) offering to clients. I discovered Organic Intelligence, which is an off-shoot from Somatic Experiencing and an approach to trauma healing that is incredibly nuanced, complex, integrative, and, above all, nervous-system informed-- all things I felt grad school and other approaches lacked. It changed me personally and professionally. Life-altering. I dove into that training and I've been so privileged to be able offer this type of support to clients for the last five years. I will be a student of human development for life and am committed to tailoring the type of support I give to each unique individual I meet with. It looks like talk therapy in practice but the way I respond to each client is informed by an understanding of how human nervous systems actually heal and transform.
I work well with individuals who are wanting more support for/with:
- anxiety & panic
- relationship dissatisfaction
- healing from childhood trauma in a nuanced way
- spiritual integration/faith crisis ("Dark Night of the Soul")
- adults unsure of whether to stay & grieve or leave their romantic partnership
- love addiction & codependency
- integrating meaningful psychedelic experiences
- exploring identity
